What Happened?

According to a notice filed with the Massachusetts AG Office, Kovack Financial experienced a data breach after an unauthorized party gained access to its network. The unauthorized access reportedly occurred between August 8 and August 27, 2025, and was discovered on August 28, 2025. Information exposed in the breach reportedly included names, Social Security numbers, driver's license and government identification numbers, and credit, debit, and financial account information. Affected individuals were notified by letters dated August 10, 2026. Kovack Financial is the parent of the broker dealer Kovack Securities and the registered investment advisor Kovack Advisors.
