What Happened?

According to a notice posted by Oculus Pathology, the pathology group was hit by a data breach that began with a compromised employee email account. The unauthorized access reportedly occurred between March 31 and April 2, 2026, and suspicious activity was first found on April 1, 2026. Information exposed in the breach reportedly included patient names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state ID numbers, financial account and payment card numbers, and health insurance and medical treatment details. Affected individuals were notified directly by Oculus Pathology. The compromise was limited to a number of employee email accounts, and the investigation into the full scope of the incident is ongoing.
