What Happened?

According to a notice filed with the California AG Office, Monmouth University was affected by a ransomware attack on its computer network. The breach occurred between February 5, 2026 and February 13, 2026. Information exposed in the breach reportedly included names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, financial account information, medical information, and health insurance information. Affected individuals were notified by mail beginning July 1, 2026. The unauthorized access was discovered on or around March 13, 2026. A ransomware group later claimed responsibility for the attack.
