What Happened?

According to a notice filed with the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs, AssuranceAmerica was targeted in an unauthorized access incident. The breach occurred on March 16, 2026, when an unauthorized party gained access to the company's systems. Information exposed in the breach reportedly included full names, mailing addresses, Social Security numbers, government identification, and financial account information. A number of data files were copied by the unauthorized party before the activity was detected. Affected individuals were notified by mail beginning in June 2026.
