Data Breach Incident Details

A recent report from the Attorney General of Maine states that the Western Electrical Contractors Association was compromised due to a cyber security attack that was discovered after the company recently detected unusual activity within its computer network. WECA launched an investigation that confirmed that between January 21, 2024 and January 22, 2024, an unauthorized party accessed the company’s network. The Western Electrical Contractors Association reviewed the files to determine which consumers were impacted and what information was compromised. Data breach letters were sent out by Western Electrical Contractors Association on August 29, 2024 informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
