At Console & Associates, our data breach lawyers are closely examining the recent TIAA data breach. This data breach was disclosed following a cyber security incident at Infosys McCamish Systems, which may have affected as many as 6,078,263 individuals, potentially exposing sensitive personal identifiable information.

What Happened?

A recent report from the Attorney General of California states that the TIAA data breach occurred due to a cyber security attack that was discovered on November 2, 2023 when Infosys McCamish determined that an unauthorized party accessed its computer network. An investigation was launched that confirmed that between October 29, 2023 and November 2, 2023 an unauthorized party accessed Infosys’ network, including files containing confidential information belonging to TIAA clients. TIAA reviewed the files to determine which consumers were impacted and what information was compromised. Data breach letters were sent out by TIAA on September 6, 2024 informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
