At Console & Associates, our data breach lawyers are closely examining the alleged Snowflake data breach. This breach was disclosed by various news centers following cyber security incidents at several large companies that use Snowflake’s software.

Data Breach Incident Details

A recent report from the TechCrunch and Security Week stated that Snowflake posted a notice on its website on May 30, 2024, indicating that the company “observed and is investigating an increase in cyber threat activity targeting some of our customers’ accounts.” Later on June 2, 2024, the company released an update that explained it had not “identified evidence suggesting this activity was caused by a vulnerability, misconfiguration, or breach of Snowflake’s platform.” Data breach letters will need to be sent out by Snowflake informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data if they are able to confirm a breach occurred. Recently, Ticketmaster, Santander Bank and Advance Auto Parts have all allegedly experienced cyber security incidents.
