A recent report from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights states that the Radiologic Medical Services data breach occurred due to unauthorized access to two employee email accounts. The cyber security incident persisted from February 22, 2024, through March 19, 2024, allowing unauthorized parties to access confidential emails and attachments. The data breach was initially detected on February 26, 2024, prompting immediate security measures and the engagement of third-party cybersecurity experts. Following an investigation completed on September 13, 2024, the company identified affected individuals and the scope of compromised information. While the specific types of exposed data have not been publicly disclosed, individualized notifications detail the exact information compromised for each affected person.
