This data breach was disclosed following a cyber security incident at ProPark Mobility, which may have affected an undetermined number of individuals, potentially exposing sensitive personal identifiable information.

What Happened?

A recent report from the Attorney General of California states that the ProPark Mobility data breach occurred due to a cyber security attack that was discovered on January 18, 2024 after the company determined that there was unauthorized access to their IT network. ProPark blocked the unauthorized access and launched an investigation that confirmed that between January 15, 2024 and January 18, 2024 an unauthorized party accessed sensitive information stored on the company’s computer network. ProPark Mobility reviewed the files to determine which consumers were impacted and what information was compromised. Data breach letters were sent out by ProPark Mobility on September 3, 2024 informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
