Data Breach Incident Details

A recent report from the Attorney General of Maine states that the Northeast Orthopedics and Sports Medicine was compromised due to a cyber security attack on November 22, 2023. Northeast Orthopedics detected unusual activity within its computer network prompting them to secure their systems and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access portions of its IT network, including files containing confidential patient information. Data breach letters were sent out by Northeast Orthopedics and Sports Medicine on March 5, 2024 informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.

These include targeting ligaments, tendons, muscles, bones and joints, including sports medicine, joint replacement, pain management, and rheumatology. Northeast Orthopedics operates nine facilities throughout Rockland, Orange, and Westchester counties.
