A recent report from the Attorney General of Maine states that the Nations Direct Mortgage was compromised due to a cyber security attack on December 30, 2023. Nations Direct learned that an unauthorized party may have gained access to its IT network prompting the company to contain the incident and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that the unauthorized party was able to gain access to their computer system and access certain files containing confidential consumer information. Data breach letters were sent out by Nations Direct Mortgage on February 28, 2024 informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
