The service provider launched an investigation that confirmed the unauthorized access to confidential MetLife customer information. MetLife reviewed the files to determine which consumers were impacted and what information was compromised. While the breached information varies depending on the individual, it may include:

Data breach letters were sent out by MetLife on August 28, 2024 informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
