A recent report from the Attorney General of Maine states that the medQ was compromised due to a cyber security attack where an unauthorized party encrypted software used by medQ and hosted by a third-party data center. medQ disconnected their network and launched an investigation. It was confirmed that files were accessed by an unauthorized party between December 20, 2023 and December 26, 2023. It was also later determined that some of these files contained confidential consumer information. Data breach letters were sent out by medQ on February 23, 2024 informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
