A recent report from the Attorney General of California states that the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company was compromised due to a third-party cyber security attack at Infosys McCamish. Newport Group acts as a recordkeeper for MassMutual non-qualified deferred compensation plans and uses Infosys McCamish as the vendor. Infosys learned that on November 2, 2023, it was the target of a ransomware attack. The company informed Newport Group of the incident and disconnected all Infosys McCamish systems. An investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access certain Newport Group information stored on Infosys McCamish systems. Data breach letters were sent out by Newport Group  on March 22, 2024 informing affected MassMutual individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
