A recent report from the Attorney General of Maine states that the Fortive data breach occurred due to a cyber security attack that was discovered in October and November of 2023 after the company detected unusual activity within its computer network. Fortive launched an investigation that confirmed that between January 25, 2023 and November 6, 2023 an unauthorized party accessed portions of its IT network and accessed files and folders containing confidential information belonging to certain individuals.
