A recent report from the Attorney General of California states that the Fidelity Investments Life Insurance Company was compromised due to a cyber security attack. FILI uses Infosys McCamish, a third-party service provider to assist with the administration of life insurance policies. Infosys McCamish informed FILI in November 2023, that it was the target of a ransomware attack. The company launched an investigation and confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access certain information belonging to FILI customers that was stored on Infosys McCamish systems between October 29, 2023 and November 2, 2023. Data breach letters were sent out by Fidelity Investments Life Insurance Company on March 1, 2024 informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
