Fairway took swift action by installing a patch to fix the vulnerability and launched an investigation into the breach. It was determined that the attacker was able to view confidential consumer data that had been entrusted to Fairway as a result of this intrusion. Data breach letters were sent out by Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation on February 2, 2024 informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
