On July 11, 2024, an investigation confirmed that an unauthorized actor accessed sensitive information through a zero-day vulnerability in a software program used by an external IT provider. Educators Benefit Consultants reviewed the files to determine which consumers were impacted and what information was compromised. Data breach letters were sent out by Educators Benefit Consultants on August 6, 2024 informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
