On January 23, 2024, the Dental Specialists learned about an unauthorized party gaining access to employee email accounts. Dental Specialists began an investigation utilizing third-party cybersecurity experts shortly after and learned the unauthorized access happened between January 11, 2024, and January 23, 2024. Dental Specialists also learned that sensitive consumer data was involved and they finished reviewing the unauthorized files on June 10, 2024. Data breach letters were sent out by Dental Specialists on August 9, 2024, informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
