Data Breach Incident Details

 A recent report from the Attorney General of Massachusetts states that Aquent was compromised due to a cyber security attack on Prospect Medical Holdings, which provides administrative services to CIGNA health plans on Aquent's behalf. On August 1, 2023, Prospect Medical detected suspicious activity in its network and immediately took steps to secure its systems and launch an investigation. They determined that between July 31, 2023 and August 3, 2023, an unauthorized party was able to access Prospect Medical's network and acquire files containing confidential information of members of certain CIGNA health plans serviced by Prospect Medical. On September 29, 2023, nearly two months after discovering the breach, Prospect Medical notified CIGNA about the incident. Data breach letters were sent out by Prospect Medical Holdings on January 31, 2024 informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
