A recent report from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights states that the American Vision Partners was compromised due to a cyber security attack. On November 13, 2023, the company became aware of suspicious activity within its computer network. Upon discovering this activity, they immediately took steps to secure their systems, including isolating affected systems, and launched an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident. It was determined that certain files containing confidential information may have been subject to unauthorized access on November 13, 2023. Data breach letters were sent out by Medical Management Resource Group on February 6, 2024 informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
