At Console & Associates, our data breach lawyers are closely examining the recent New Era Enterprises data breach. This data breach was disclosed following a cyber security incident at New Era Enterprises, which may have affected certain Central States Health & Life Co. of Omaha customers, potentially exposing sensitive personal identifiable information including names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, insurance ID numbers, and medical information.
A recent report from the Maine Attorney General's Office states that the New Era Enterprises data breach occurred due to a cyber security incident in which unauthorized access to the company's IT network was detected.

New Era Enterprises discovered this suspicious activity on December 18, 2024, and took action by isolating affected portions of their network infrastructure and launching a comprehensive investigation with assistance from third-party cybersecurity specialists.
The investigation revealed that the compromised data belonged to customers of Central States Health & Life Co. of Omaha (CSO), for whom New Era's subsidiary provides administrative services. After identifying the affected individuals, New Era notified CSO about the incident on February 3, 2025.
Data breach letters were sent out by New Era Enterprises on March 10, 2025, informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and the specific types of personal information that may have been compromised in their particular case.
