A recent report from the Attorney General of Montana states that the Brown Integrated Logistics data breach occurred due to a cyber security attack that was discovered on November 15, 2024 after the company determined there was suspicious activity within its computer network. BIL launched an investigation that confirmed that beginning around November 13, 2023 an unauthorized party accessed its network and accessed files containing confidential information belonging to individuals. Brown Integrated Logistics reviewed the files to determine who was impacted and what information was compromised. Data breach letters were sent out by Brown Integrated Logistics on September 23, 2024 informing affected individuals about the nature of the incident and compromised data.
